Pelagicide - we have a rule about using cyrillic alphabet when writing in Bulgarian so they are teasing the admins about using the latin one... other than that they're admiring the catch! We'd really love to read the story behind this one!

live2dive, the gun in pic is my 11yr old son's gun. i shot this little guppy with a 1.2mtr rob allen railgun, which i've owned since christmas 1999.

Good choice, Gary, can't go wrong with Rob Allen's guns - my personal favourites! Did the fish come alone, or a shoal ? Did you use flasher? Burley? Were you boat diving?

Live2Dive, i am amazed to see an older diver than myself still active ! we were 21 km out @ a FAD, drift-diving from my 4.36mtr tinny. i dived parrallel to a school of 50-60 smaller fish, coming straight to me, this fish + a 3/4(of his size) female. i shot him, thinking he was only 12-14 kgs. he then started dragging my boat up-current. (my rig-line was attached to bow-rope) when my dive buddy( Al ) attached my float to rig-line, off the boat, the fish just re-joined the school. not realizing just how big he was, i asked Al to 2nd shoot the fish, to make sure we land him. only when we got him into the boat did i realize just how big he was. can't claim any record, but hey, i'm still pretty happy. state record is 19.2kg(local diver) Australian record 20.2kg Alex Lewis (sydney boy) here are some autralian sites you may be interested in. ! Do you have plenty of FAD's off-shore in Oz? Exciting story, should've borrowed your buddy's gun, and double-up yourself, and claim the record - never mind, next time! I haven't been lucky myself, as yet , to shoot a Dolphinfish, but I believe it is amazingly beautiful underwater - electric colours running non-stop along its body in the water. I'm planning a spearo trip to Madagascar next year, hoping to meet one!

Live2Dive, don't be too offended, Al, my dive buddy is 56 yrs OLD this year. i make sure he remembers. also you have me at a disadvantage, i can't read your name on profile (sorry..not english). i am assuming you are wearing 5-7 mm suits for a reason. here in OZ i am wearing 2mm shorts and rashie vest. and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of WAHOO and MACKERAL. ? ? are they mackeral in your profile picture ? ? ?

Sand here told me he saw dorado in the Med when he was training for the Bodrum competition. He didn't seem very positive about the ID though. He might join to tell his story sice the dorado is not a very common sight in the Med I hear... By the way, I love how the Croatians call it: Pucinka, Pucinka skakavica. One more time I feel deprived in terms of diversity in the Black Sea! :roll:

Yes i encounter about 7-9 of those fish (from 5-10kg) but they didnt wanted to come near me - and believe me i was very ready for them because the day before i missed one 25-30kg Amber Jack

Sorry, Gary, my real name is Angel. Yes, it is 4-off King Mackerels (Spaniards, as you call them) in my pic - I've been based in South Africa for many years now, and we use 3mm suits, just like you guys. Wouldn't dare shorts, though - because of the jellyfish : bluebottles !!! 5-7mm suits are compulsory in the Med/Black sea, however : water's too cold :-(
